Chester Zoo, Educational Department with Alison Duddle
During my time assisting Alison Duddle making for Chester zoo's lantern event with Wild Rumpus (this can be found in my portfolio) I was also able to observe and assist with the making of a small Owl Puppet. This was an additional project to be used by the Zoo's educational department. Although most of my time in Alison's studio was spent working on the project for Wild Rumpus she was able to explain the workings of the puppet as it was constructed. I saw how the mechanisms came together to bring the piece to life. I was able to help my making the feet to join the owl to its perch. These were created using worbla over a wire armature, attached to a soft fabric leg.
