I constructed a half scale female form mannequin, to which I was then able to fit my designs. I have made an accurate 1840s bodice and skirt, 1901 half boned corset, fat suit, sleeved bodice, chiffon skirt and crinoline. The half scale mannequin allowed me to conserve materials whilst learning new skills and working from home efficiently during the Covid-19 pandemic.
